December 26, 2024: My Snowman and Me

Image
Merry Christmas!! Its been a weird week for sure. Work has been going slowly because of the new transfer and it's meetings, as well as Christmas celebrations. It's been great though, we've got to spend some time with some amazing people.  We started the week with some Zone Leader training and the mission leadership conference. That was awesome. We got to present our zones numbers from the last transfer, and how we came from the most underperforming zone in the mission to one of the best. President was like "send this data to the twelve!" It was awesome. Some miracles were definitely worked last transfer.  We had church on Sunday and we had our new baby missionary, Elder McCann give a 5 minute talk for his first Sunday. He did fantastic! We also got a surprise meal invitation to a family in our ward and ate Rouladen, a very traditional German meal. It's basically flattened and rolled roast beef filled with onions and cucumber and other veggies.  Monday was a ...

December 19, 2024: Where the streets are made of gold

Servus! This weeks been crazy! I've only got time for a quick run down but here we go: New transfer! We're both staying (mega hype!) AND we are now training. We picked up our brand new baby missionary this morning and headed off to our area. His name is Elder McCann, He's a cool guy! He was super into body building and stuff in the past, was bench pressing 405 lbs and stuff. Wild. He was also in a rock band and knows all my favorite radiohead songs so that is super cool. He's been unfortunafely super duper sick (as in unwell) though this first day, so please pray for him! Anyways otherwise were doing really well! Sanja continues to make progress towards her goal to be baptised on the 11th of January. Ashlee is also making progress. We were going to baptise Okwuudili this weekend but he needs a little more time.  I think Christmas will have already passed by my next email which is crazy! Frohe Weihnachten!! Elder Tage Rex

Grüß euch! Another great week! We were able to put one more friend on baptismal date! Sanja will be baptized on the 11th of January. We also followed up with our man Okwuudili who is on date for next Saturday and he's on track to make it so we're super excited!! He will be interviewed this Saturday. It's so amazing to be a part of this process. We're trying our best to work hard and be effective in everything of course, but it really just feels like the Lord is doing the heavy lifting. It's his work and he just lets us be the messengers.  On Friday we had a funny experience. We've been riding some bikes that are alright, but not great, and the sisters just 10 Minute train ride over had some reallyyyy nice bikes, but they don't use them too often. We asked them to trade and for some reason they agreed. They dropped off the bikes at the church and we were going to have a long bike ride on Friday so we figured it would be a good day to pick them up. We rode o...

This week was insane!! It's been miracle after miracle and I don't know how to explain any of it.  First off, Elder Stubbs and I are still doing great! Working hard, lots of finding and teaching (and hopefully soon baptizing). Our zone however has been having a much more difficult time figuring out how to do that (maybe I've mentioned that in previous letters, I'm not sure) and we've been trying to figure out how to hype them up so we can get some work going on. This week the zone exploded! (Or more 2 companionships exploded, which influence the zone a lot). Before this week, our zone would average about 10 new people being taught every week. This week we achieved 30 people! And, 12 of those were found by one companionship that we had pumped up the week before about the work. Its so cool to see everyone finally getting hype (our zone has kinda been a little down for the last few months). We also did another 48 hour exchange with some other elders in our Zone which...

November 28, 2024: I need something more than only me

First- Happy Thanksgiving!!  Second- I did not write last week. There may be some lost content but it's been a great couple weeks since my last email! We've been teaching a crazy amount of lessons and it is awesome. We have a very nice variety of languages, backgrounds, and people we're teaching. It's probably about 33% German, 33% English (often from Nigeria) and then 33% other where we have to involve translation, wether Turkish, French, or Arabic. It's super cool. We have a few people making a lot of progress: Alex: I was calling up old contacts a couple weeks ago and a Turkish lady named Alex picked up the phone and we made an appointment. We ended up meeting with her but she couldn't speak much German at all. We set up another appointment and got some translation there, and then God worked some insane miracle! We learned that she used to be Muslim but she had been reading the bible and known something was special about Jesus that she couldn't deny. Sh...

This week has been a great week! I have only 5 minutes to write this email so it'll be short. Transfers just happened! Elder Oswald left me  . I'm going to miss him, but now I'm with Elder Stubbs, who is already a ZL in his 4th transfer. He's an awesome dude and I'm excited to work with him. He's also from dallas Texas and lived on a Ranch.  Things are well! Just working hard and telling people about Jesus because he's awesome. I'll write a better one next week! Tschüß Elder Tage Rex

November 7, 2024: I tried to write it down but I could never find the pen

Guten morgen! This week hasn't been super eventful, but it's been good! The weather has been getting colder and colder recently, and that makes finding in public a little harder. When we have extended periods of time outside we usually go in a McDonald's and grab a nice warm fry for a couple minutes, and then go out all warmed up.  We had an exchange this week and I went to Friedrichsdorf, where the Temple is. Its always nice to see it! We found some cool people and I got to pull out some Persian on a bunch of people so that's fun.  Some of our friends got sick and we had the opportunity to give them priesthood blessings. That was a cool experience! I've had the opportunity to give a few members blessings but haven't till now to friends. Had a little miracle yesterday. We texted an inactive member named Claristo who we wanted to visit but we'd never met before. He said "we will see if I have time" which as a missionary 99% of the time is just a ...
