November 16, 2023: There are ghost towns in the ocean

Reminder: the term "Each other" is two seperate words. It is not "eachother"

This week was a good week, aside from a couple things.

Last p-day we had 2 appointments set up in the evening, both of which canceled on us, so we went finding downtown. It started to downpour on us, and hardly anyone was outside (because we were the only ones crazy enough to be), so we decided it was best to turn home.

We had a great lesson with Neda, one of our good friends who we feel has been progressing on Friday. We went to a store for lunch after our lesson though, and she was there too so we played some hide and seek to avoid her noticing us 💀. We then visited a family about an hour away who were incredibly nice. We promised them cookies last week, and we were all a little disappointed when we presented none. I think they still appreciated us though...?

We talked with one of our friends Tobias on saturday, and realised there's a lot more he doesn't understand yet that we thought he did. We met up with Hanna, an Arabic friend, and saw a huge rainbow. Apparently it was also the day of Karnival, so the trains were a nightmare on the way home. Filled with hundreds of young people smoking and drinking, dressed up in costumes, and bottles laying on the ground everywhere. Someone also puked in the middle of the eisle. It made me thankful for the word of wisdom😅

On Sunday I was... sick! I caught a cold, and I'm still a little bit under the weather, but the worst of it is past. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't fun to sit inside all day. We had a stake conference that we watched online, and our mission president, President Cropper and his wife spoke. It was amazing, they basically called everyone to repentance and told them that they need to be helping us in the work. Legendary. I slept for a few hours, and contacted some people.

I was still sick on Monday 🥲

We had an exchange on Tuesday! I was with the wise old man Elder Mackenzie. We had a lesson with a guy named Jonas, and it was really cool because he wasn't really paying that much attention to what we were saying, but then Elder Mackenzie told him the first vision experience from Joseph Smith, and he was suddenly paying attention, and agreed to meet up with us again. Another miracle is that we were talking to him, and Felix, an amazing member just showed up out of nowhere and bore his testimony. "My train fell out and I saw you guys so I decided to come over" is what he told us.

We had DRat on Wednesday, ate Sucuck&Chill, came back early to a canceled lesson, got a number contacting on the way, got home, and found out it wasn't a real number. Sadness.

I don't have much more time to write left, but one of our good friends dropped us on Sunday, which was pretty difficult because that hadn't happened to me yet.

There were many prayers answered this week, and often not in ways I expected.

Alma 10: 22-23
22 Yea, and I say unto you that if it were not for the prayers of the righteous, who are now in the land, that ye would even now be visited with utter destruction; yet it would not be by flood, as were the people in the days of Noah, but it would be by famine, and by pestilence, and the sword. 23 But it is by the prayers of the righteous that ye are spared

Sometimes it's hard to see the outcome of our prayers, but they really are there. We just can't see what would happen without them.

Much love and till next week!

Sorry mom I have no pictures :(
