January 18, 2024: I could be you
You could be me

Guten Tag, Guten abend, und Guten Nacht!

The train strike finally ended on Saturday! Unfortunately the trains in Wesel are still down, so we have to take replacement busses anyways. It works though.
Schwester Ebbert has still been driving us around everywhere, but my bike is finally fixed as of yesterday! I'm going to miss Taxi Oma, but she's taking us to lunch today so it'll all be OK.
We had two exchanges this week, one with our ZL's and I went with Elder Hale in Düsseldorf. It was good! We taught some good lessons, and I met a cool Japanese dude on a street train who lived in California for 8 years and new English! We also had a Fußball night, and I pretended to play soccer for 2 hours. There's some insanely good soccer players here, I can't wrap my mind around how they learn to control the ball so well.
We had a good Sunday, and had a little miracle! We had asked Jakob earlier for information about his baptism, and we were scared because he never got back to us. We needed the conformation so we could hold his baptism. Then he showed up unannounced at church with everything we needed! So if everything goes according to plan, then he will be baptized on Sunday!
After that we went and ate lunch with one of the Omas, which was fun but she sometimes scares me a little bit. The food was delicious though!
We had an exchange on Tuesday-Wednesday, I went to Mönchengladbach with Elder Dodge. I talked to a dude on the bus and asked him what brings him joy, he thought for a second, and then turned on his phone. His screen saver was of his young daughter. His German wasn't perfect, but he could still communicate how much love he had for her, and how much joy she brings him. It was a super sweet interaction. I could feel the spirit as he talked, and it amazes me how amazing of a gift from god the family is.
On Wednesday we had D-Rat and got to go to Sucuck&Chill!! It'd been like 5 weeks because they've been closed for the holidays. They were so excited to see us there and gave us a bunch of free food. We're going to hang up a picture of us on their wall sometime soon hopefully!
Today we chilled out, went shopping, and went with taxi Oma (Schwester Ebbert) to a Chinese Buffet because why not? It's always nice to bond with the Omas.
That's about all this week! Transfers are next week, I have no idea what'll happen, but I think there's a good chance I stay. Who knows!
Much love!
