March 28, 2024: Letting go, not taking part

Yeah that was the hardest part"

We decided to visit an inactive family with our time on Wednesday, and we just happened to walk in as they were about to start decorating Easter Eggs! It was a German-Chinese family, and they had two sweet little kids. Unfortunately their mom didn't seem too thrilled about the Church, so we just interacted and played with the kids for about an hour. I love listening to little German kids talk, they speak so clearly and they always ask good questions. When we left the kids were begging us to stay and come back another time, and gave us hugs as we were walking out, despite us only knowing them for the past hour and a half. I don't know if we will ever get the chance to go back, but those kids really made an imprint on me. They looked at us in a way I've never been looked at before, and the support they would have as a family in the gospel would provide such a foundation for them.

In other news, our District is performing a musical piece in one of the American wards, and I'm playing the accompaniment, so I've been practicing a bunch to get ready for it. It's coming along and I'm excited to play it! Hopefully I can get a recording and maybe send it in my next email? We shall see.

There's a lot more that happened, but I have no time left to write so you get to be left in the dark. Also sorry it's half in german- it's complicated.

Love you all and bis nächste Woche!
