May 12, 2024: Now there's an empty room you outgrew

 A good week!

We had another Elders quorum activity, this time related to mothers day! We made a ton of Italian food like lasagna, fettuccine alfredo, spaghetti, and garlic baguettes. All of the women in the branch got to have a nice dinner with each other. They enjoyed it! You never know with that kind of stuff, it's either amazing or everything goes wrong.

We worked on Brother Phillips house again, this time lifting massive bricks all the way to the top of the stairs. Great workout! It looked like I got into a fight with a cat for a while after though.

We had 2 separate days this week where we had 3 lessons planned (which is really good at the moment for us), but on both days all three canceled at the last minute, so we had white days (days without any plans). We of course still have to do work though. When we have a planned white day, we can often get a lot done because we can visit people far away with the time we have, and have effectively planned finding times and locations. Unfortunately when everything cancels at the last minute, you don't have too many options other than going on the street and talking to people.

We ate with the Mitschke family on Sunday! They made schnitzel, potatoes, and mixed veggies. Can't go wrong with that :) It was scrumptious.

Zone Conference happened on Tuesday! Zoko is just simply the best. I remember my first one and it felt like I was just an observer because I knew nobody, and I was too shy to say anything (I sometimes still am), but now instead of observing the family reunion, I get to be a part of it. And Heidelberg is just the best zone to be in :)

We had exchanges with the American Elders, and I got to go with the Goat Elder Thompson! We taught our friend Leon, who is always great to talk to because his faith is very strong. We also ate at the Espinosa family's house, and we got to have real authentic Mexican tacos! The husband got some real corn tortillas, made guacamole, some spicy sauce thing, and pico de guyo (or however you spell that). They also have a little chihuahua who is like a thicker longer version of our old dog Taco :)

We made sugar cube temples with the Young men on Wednesday, and visited a super sketchy apartment to deliver a Book of Mormon, but they were not home.

We *almost* played tennis today. the guy who usually takes us had to work long so he couldn't make it. We did visit a cool Japanese garden though!

Thats it for this week!

Bis zum nächste Woche!
