July 11, 2024: Maybe I'm just a ghost

 Disappear when anybody's close

Lots of crazy changes!

We had transfers already, and we got to see the transfer board on Saturday. I got transferred to Trier! I'm actually already there as I'm writing this. It's the oldest city in all of Germany, so there's a ton of history and cool roman stuff! I've only been here a day so i haven't seen much yet, but pictures will come 🙏. It's a big change from Frankfurt because it's a much smaller city, but I think it'll be a bit less stressful which is good. The Church is also very small here, there's about 15 members who come regularly, and 10 of those are just one family. I'm actually really excited to get to work here though, there's a lot to be done!

Our president let us watch one game from the Euro Cup soccer tournament, so we watched the game of Spain vs Germany with all of the young adults in Frankfurt. It was super tragic to watch Germany lose, but it was a super fun game!

We had a member appointment on Sunday! (Super rare in Frankfurt). It was a Ukrainian family and we got to eat some amazing Ukrainian food. I had the opportunity to share a scripture that I read the other day, and I'd like to share it with you all.

Jeremiah 17:7-8
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

This scripture describes people who trust and hope in the Lord as a tree planted by a river. Even when droughts come, the tree will stay strong because the water is sourced from a steady river and not from the weather. When we trust in Jesus Christ as our source of living water, and root ourselves on him, even during life's periods where it feels like drought it upon us, we can continue to grow and continue to bear fruit and find joy even through the opposition we face. I have a testimony that these words are true.

I didn't have much to write this week, but I am doing well and I'm looking foreward to serving in my new area.

Liebe Grüße,
Elder Tage Rex
