July 4, 2024: I'll be waiting in line
Just to see if you care
Let's get into the week!
News item number one: we got desks! We've been trying to get desks in our apartment for the entire transfer, because we had 2 couches and yet no desks. It finally happened! It's really convenient, I forgot how nice it is.
We've been teaching our two Arabic friends (whose names I have yet to attempt to pronounce) and its really cool because they have next to no background in religion. We have to start from ground zero to build their faith, and it's difficult, but inspiring. We hope they are able to feel the spirit and come to a knowledge of their father in heaven!
There was a baptism in a neighboring city that we visited which was really nice. A missionary baptized his phone on accident (it was in his pocket while performing the baptism). After that we did a bunch of garden work for a member. Service projects are the best. I never thought I'd do garden work with a smile on my face in my whole life, but here we are. Serving others really is the key to happiness!
We had an incredible exchange with the Persian speaking elders in Frankfurt. Their language is so crazy! They do it incredibly well though. A lot of their time is taken up from translations for other people's friends, so they don't get a whole lot of time outside of that, but it's cool to watch.
I organized a district council on Wednesday and for our lunch we had a pizza making party! The stores here sell these "Pizza Kit" things (maybe they're they're America too? I've never seen them) and it comes with a dough and sauce, so we all bought some and made pizza together. It was awesome! Afterwards we had DRat and my companion led a get to know you activity, in which he asked everyone to share an experience. I told about a tennis point I celebrated too early on, because I totally forgot about the bird flapping. If that sentence didn't make sense to you and you want to find out more either ask my family or shoot me an email. I'll get back by next week :).
I just want to bear my testimony on the fact that Jesus is our savior. He is, and he is the only one with the capacity to save us, to help us in a cause in which we couldn't help ourselves. He lived a perfect life so that we can all one day become perfected in and through him. Because of his perfection, the adversary had no power over him and he was able to rise on the third day. He is our perfect exemplar, he is the light of the world!
Liebe Grüße
Elder Tage Rex
PS: Transfers are next Wednesday! Next time you hear from me it will be a new one.
I'm sorry I forgot to take pictures again :(
