October 31, 2024: The universe was made just to be seen by my eyes

 Had a nice week!

Started off with an exchange. I was with "Elder Bishop". I wonder if he will one day be Bishop Bishop. We did another exchange later in the week with some of our media Elders, so that was fun too.

The best thing this week would probably be that we organized what we call a "Hype week" where we have some kind of competition in the Zone in order to to help people be motivated to do missionary work. Often times these hype weeks kinda aren't that great (in all honesty) but ours was pretty successful! We based it off of different methods of finding people to teach. Those methods we identified were finding through families where not all family members have been baptized, referred people from members, referred people from people we teach, social media finding, and contacting in public. We made a zombie 🧟‍♂️  team and a vampire 🧛‍♂️ team (because of spooky season) , and through finding people they would earn points and the loser has to by lunch for the other team. Because of this we were able to find more than double the people this week as our average for the past few weeks, and it was awesome! I was on the Zombie team and we *barely* lost.

Church was fun this week! I was at the front door, greeting members, and then all of a sudden a tall dude with slicked back curly hair walks through the door and says "Elder Rex!!" And gives me a hug. It. Took me about 10 seconds to realize but it was a missionary I served with for a while (we were in the same district). His name is Elder Berndt and he's a native German and he just showed up completely randomly to visit his cousin who is apparently in our ward. It was awesome to see him!

We spent the day on Wednesday in Wetzlar because we had District council there, and decided to do some finding as well. We tried to cook up some lunch, and unfortunately the stove and oven did not work, and after about 45 minutes of trying to fix it, we decided to use the microwave. It turns out you can actually cook ground beef in the microwave like super fast! That sounds disgusting but desperate times call for desperate measures and so we microwaved up some chili con carne. Would i do it again? Well, Not if I have a stove. But if you don't it is not a terrible option. (+no food poisoning)

That's all that's new. We had a Halloween pday today and carved pumpkins with our Zone as well as the Frankfurt zone, so there were about 40 missionaries all together. It was a party!

Isaiah 49: 15-16
"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."

We are never forgotten by the Savior. Through the nailing onto the cross we have literally been graven into his hands. He is just waiting for us to remember him.

Happy Halloween!
