January 2, 2025: Now it's time for some... reading
A fun week!
We had 3 more meal appointments this week, which is unheard of for this area. One with a Ukrainian family named the Bondarchuks, another with an Oma named Schwester Hartmann, and then we went to Michelle's again for Sunday dinner (Phillipino member who cooks an insane amount of food). So that was fun!
We only had a few days of actual work this week because of a mission event, but we were still able to get some stuff done which was nice. We hit all of our goals last week despite Christmas!
Sunday was awesome, we had 4 people show up to church despite the holidays. The members were super friendly and they all felt the love. We got to teach them all there and they all really enjoyed it!
The craziest part of this last week was what we did as a mission over New Years. New year's Eve gets really crazy here in Germany. Our mission president didn't want us going out much on the 31st and 1st, so instead of working outside, as a mission we read the ENTIRE Book of Mormon in 2 days! We woke up at 6:30, jumped on a Zoom call at 8am, and read till 9:30pm as a mission two days in a row. That's 531 pages in English (one of my companions and I did 701 pages in German). It was a lot of reading, a lot of sitting there, but it was honestly completely worth it.
Something I learned from the reading is that the Lord always fulfills his covenants, and always keeps his promises to the people. He always prospers the righteous, and always protects those who are willing to covenant with him, and because God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, we can have that same promise. As we keep his commandments, we will prosper, and as we make and keep covenants, he will guide and protect us.
Did a fun picture scavenger hunt so I have some pictures! Enjoy!
Bis nächste Woche!
