January 9, 2025: Doing it just as a hobby, like these boys told me to

 We had another crazy week!

We started off with an exchange with the elders in Koblenz. I was with Elder Woodman who's super chill and we had a great time together. After the exchange it was my birthday so we headed straight to my birthday party at Michelles! She is awesome, and I'll have some pictures down below. She made a ton of food, gave me some flowers and her friend made a delicious cake. It was a good birthday!

It snowed all that night and all the roads froze over. We had church the next day, but lots of people were advised to stay home because of the weather. We still went and were able to convince our friend Elef to come with despite the weather, even though only 20 people showed up. It was a great service!

Monday was good, we visited our friend Sam and even though he isn't interested in being baptized, he's been finding people who are interested in meeting with us and so he invited us to come over and meet a new guy. It was really cool, they're both Syrian and super nice chill guys. And they love America 🇺🇸

Tuesday was a wild wild day, one of the best days I've had in Gießen I think. We had to start the day early to head to interviews with our mission president, and that went well. I may have mentioned this in my last email, but in order to get our zone pumped we've been sending in goofy videos giving people shoutouts for awesome stuff every day and we call it "bringing the boom". During interviews we got our mission president and his wife to do a video for us and it was legendary!

On our way home we only had about 20 minutes to go finding and we were able to find 4 solid people within those 20 minutes, which is an insane yield from what we normally get.

After that we went home and our friend Sonia had her baptismal interview, and she passed! She will be baptised this Saturday and we are super excited for it!

To finish off the day we had a lesson with our friend Andrés. He's a hilarious dude and we had a really funny but super spiritual lesson about the priesthood and the gospel blessing all of God's children. We invited him to be baptised and he said "you know, this has been on my mind a lot recently and now I can really give a firm yes". It was incredible. He's going to be an amazing strength to the Ward here. After the lesson we said a prayer of gratitude and just went crazy. We're picking out a date tonight as well.

Wednesday was a bit crazy. We were biking around and suddenly the tire on my bike pops an is completely flat so I was riding on a metal wheel for a bit. Otherwise we were mostly outside talking to people on the streets.

Today for Pday we went up to the absolutely stunning city of Marburg in a blizzard and visited a castle there. It was freeeeezing and my socks are soggy but it was worth it!

Scripture: 4 Nephi 1:17-18
"17 There were no robbers, nor murderers, neither were there Lamanites, nor any manner of -ites; but they were in one, the children of Christ, and heirs to the kingdom of God.
18 And how blessed were they! For the Lord did bless them in all their doings"

That's all this week!
