March 6, 2025: Born of a light
It's been a busy week!
We started off with an exchange in Koblenz from Thursday to Saturday. They had been struggling, but we were able to help them out and help them start up their area again. Koblenz is a beautiful city though, there's tons of castles, fortresses, cathedrals and palaces and the Rhine river runs through the whole place.
We had a little time in our area on Saturday to work, and then we had church on Sunday. It was fast Sunday and it was pretty nice. We visited a older lady for dinner and had schnitzel!
Monday-Tuesday was another exchange, this time in Friedberg with the media Elders. They run a ton of stuff like social media ads and crunch lots of numbers and spreadsheets. Unfortunately we don't know how to do any of that so we just took them outside to find some people. I was with Elder Chapman, who is a Turkish called missionary and we met a ton of Turkish speakers so that was super cool!
Tuesday was the peak of fasching (a.k.a. Karnival) so we came home early and watched a movie as a whole mission! Fasching is kind of like an adult version of Halloween, where everybody dresses up (but not spooky themed) and instead of knocking doors for candy, they go to parties, drink a ton, and make really good choices. Just kidding. But it does get pretty crazy, we saw some people strapped with upwards of 20-30 shot bottles arranged like an ammo belt across their chest. The event went on from Thursday last week till Wednesday this week.
Yesterday was our only full day to spend doing work in our area this week so we spent the whole day on the street finding people to teach. We tried out a few new spots to find people (because I've been going to the same 2 places for the last 5 months) and it went pretty well. Other than that we attended a youth activity and I crushed some 12 year olds in arm wrestling

I listened to an amazing talk from our prophet President Russell M. Nelson yesterday and wanted to share a quote:
"Who are you?
First and foremost, you are a child of God.
Second, as a member of the Church, you are a child of the covenant.
And third, you are a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Tonight, I plead with you not to replace these three paramount and unchanging identifiers with any others, because doing so could stymie your progress or pigeonhole you in a stereotype that could potentially thwart your eternal progression."
(Choices for Eternity - Young Adult devotional, May 2022)
Think about who you are and how you identify yourself! Will that take you to where you really want to be for eternity?
Have a great week!
