May 1, 2025: But is there something more than that?

 We had quite an exciting week!


On Saturday Joel was baptized!! He was super nervous but he was so happy. A lot of people from the Ward came to support him as well and it was so awesome. He is being integrated into the Ward very well and we are very excited for him to continue to progress in the Gospel.

On Monday our mission president and his wife came down to have lunch and ice cream with us! We did something a couple months ago that made them happy and they rewarded us. We went to a place that's basically as close as you can get to taco bell in Germany called Chidoba. It was delicious.

On Tuesday we had an exchange and I was with our zone leader Elder Kirk. He's super chill and we had a lot of hobbies in common so it was fun to talk about nerdy things. We found a cool Egyptian guy together too!

We started a scripture study night on Wednesdays where we read in the Bible and the book of mormon with our friends and it's been super awesome. The Spirit is always strong in the scriptures.

One difficult thing is that recently it's been pretty tough to find new people to teach. We live in a big city so there are always people to talk to, but the people seem a lot less willing to talk. It's been getting a little better the past few days though.

Oh also it got really hot this week. It was 28°C yesterday (mid 80s°F). 

Things are going well! This is the last week of the transfer which is crazy. The next transfer is my last.

On the spiritual side of things, I was thinking this morning about how the gospel can be compared to driving on a highway toward a specific destination. The covenants we make are the car we drive, and our faith in Christ is like our fuel. The church is like the road, without it our ride will be bumpy and it's a lot harder to figure out where you're going. Despite all that help, we are still the ones in the driver seat, and we make the calls of where the car goes. The combination of Jesus Christ's power through faith in him as well as the highway we drive on, will take us far closer and far faster to our wanted destination than anything we could do on our own (like walking). It's amazing to be a part of this work and help people find their destinations as well!

  First- Happy Thanksgiving!!  Second- I did not write last week. There may be some lost content but it's been a great couple weeks since my last email! We've been teaching a crazy amount of lessons and it is awesome. We have a very nice variety of languages, backgrounds, and people we're teaching. It's probably about 33% German, 33% English (often from Nigeria) and then 33% other where we have to involve translation, wether Turkish, French, or Arabic. It's super cool. We have a few people making a lot of progress: Alex: I was calling up old contacts a couple weeks ago and a Turkish lady named Alex picked up the phone and we made an appointment. We ended up meeting with her but she couldn't speak much German at all. We set up another appointment and got some translation there, and then God worked some insane miracle! March 13, 2025: Mama, dein Sohn ist ein Gangster

  Here are the good things: - Elder McCann got his wisdom teeth out and is now recovered! We got some awesome videos of him. The German dentist is pretty brutal though. His face looked like a chipmunk for 4 days  - we found some cool people! I talked to a guy who said no at first, but as I was walking away he asked me where I was from. I told him America, and then he asked which state. I told him Oklahoma. He then starts speaking really good English to me and apparently went on a school exchange in Stillwater Oklahoma like 30 years ago?? What are the chances? That's was a really fun conversation. Figured he's probably an OSU fan though so I didn't get his phone number.  - we had an awesome day at church on Sunday, our newly baptized member Okwuudili showed up without getting a ride with someone (the person he usually goes with is gone) so he traveled upwards of two hours to church. He missed the sacrament portion, so we were able to do a mini sacrament with him afterwards...

November 7, 2024: I tried to write it down but I could never find the pen

  Guten morgen! This week hasn't been super eventful, but it's been good! The weather has been getting colder and colder recently, and that makes finding in public a little harder. When we have extended periods of time outside we usually go in a McDonald's and grab a nice warm fry for a couple minutes, and then go out all warmed up.  We had an exchange this week and I went to Friedrichsdorf, where the Temple is. Its always nice to see it! We found some cool people and I got to pull out some Persian on a bunch of people so that's fun.  Some of our friends got sick and we had the opportunity to give them priesthood blessings. That was a cool experience! I've had the opportunity to give a few members blessings but haven't till now to friends. Had a little miracle yesterday.
